As our basic skills skaters improve, they move into this program, which is based on the United States Figure Skating Association's (USFSA) advanced testing structure. Moves, are patterns that are skated on the ice, using specific edges and guidelines set up by the USFSA. Freestyle is the artistic side of Figure Skating, where the skater learns jumps, spins and the artistry of the sport. There are eight different test levels the skaters must pass to become a Senior level skater and receive the ultimate "gold" pin.
Our Moves & Freestyle Skaters have been working hard for years to get to the level of skating that they have achieved. Most of these skaters, skate 2-3 times a week on our club time and spend many hours traveling southern Minnesota for precious ice time so they can skate year round.
